Hannah started at DaCapo when she was a toddler and she followed the DaCapo programme right through until the age of eighteen. However, her interest in dance blossomed when she started going to local dance classes aged 8 and she learnt a variety of styles such as ballet, modern, jazz and contemporary, before deciding that contemporary would be her main focus.
Hannah furthered her dance education at the University of Roehampton where she studied contemporary dance, graduating in 2017. Hannah is very interested in how dance can benefit us both physically and psychologically.
While studying at University, Hannah became interested in competitive cheerleading and has competed in national competitions at Level 1 and 2.
Hannah currently coaches cheerleading and dance for Saracens as well as teaching contemporary dance for young children at DaCapo.
The contemporary classes consist of a mix of dance styles such as contemporary, ballet, jazz and lyrical dance. The half hour session integrates technique, creativity and improvisation in order to explore physicality, movement vocabulary and performance.
The class aims to allow the students to explore their physical capabilities as well as looking at cooperation between students. We explore the possibilities of different levels, directions, movement qualities and pathways that can be created with the body in order to make the body as expressive as possible.
By learning sequences, responding to music and using the students' imaginations, the students should become well-rounded dancers with rhythmic accuracy and unique movement ideas.
