Luis Lax

Luis is a Spanish violinist. He completed his Master of Music at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and he is now pursuing a Master Degree in Performance at the Royal College of Music in London. He offers concerts in different halls all over Spain and the UK, combining this experience with teaching in London.

He is a member of the Royal College Teaching Service, where he teaches violin during the year. He has also taken part in many Sparks concerts like “The fairy queen” project in collaboration with the “Vicente Cañada Blanch” Institute.

After studying in the Conservatorio Municipal de Barcelona for four years, Luis studied Bachelor at the Escola Municipal de Música de Catalunya (ESMuC) with Yuri Volguin. From 2014 to 2015 he was a student of Abel Tomàs, violinist of the Cuarteto Casals. As a soloist, he played last year with the Symphonic Band of the City of Yecla (Murcia) and Bach’s double concerto with Germans Pla Symphonic Orchestra. In the orchestral field, he has worked with important conductors such as Simon Rattle, Valery Gérgiév and Maxim Vengerov. For four years he has been a member of the Youth Orchestra of Catalonia (JONC) and in 2013 he was also a member of the Youth Orchestra of Spain (JONDE).

This year, he performed in venues such as the Reial Acadèmia of Belles Arts de Sant Jordi, European Museum of Modern Art (MEAM) and the Buckingham Palace, a special concert with the Prince of Wales in the audience.
