John Savournin
John studied acting with LAMDA, before receiving a scholarship to study singing at Trinity College of Music, where he studied Kodaly musicianship with David Vinden. At Trinity, he was awarded the Founder's Prize for Excellence and the Paul Simms Opera Prize.
He is now a freelance classical singer, working for opera companies across the country, and Artistic Director of Charles Court Opera, one of the UK's leading small scale theatre companies. In concert, he has appeared as a soloist in most of the UK's major concert halls and recently gave his debut recital at the Purcell Room as a Park Lane Young Artist.
Future engagements include his Wigmore Hall debut in June 2012 and more immediately, Charles Court Opera's Christmas pantomime which, this year, is Beowulf!
