Liz Menezes

Liz was born in Barnsley, where she was taught violin by Roy Gerrard. She went on to study at St John's College Oxford (MA Hons Classics and French),  Trinity College  of Music (P.G.Cert., M.Mus.) and the Poor School, where she has recently completed the two year acting training. 

She has been a violin teacher at Da Capo since 1998 and has been involved in many of the Da Capo projects in Schools and Nurseries as well as playing violin in performances of the Farmyard Suite. Her career as a professional singer with Carl Rosa Opera, Charles Court Opera, Minotaur Music Theatre and others has taken her to Australia, New Zealand, USA, Canada, Ireland, France and all over the UK. 

As a violinist she is a member of the Aspidistra Drawing Room Orchestra, and has also appeared as a fiddler on Radio 4’s Classic Serial.
