DaCapo in a Nutshell

This one-day course explores the main tenants of the DaCapo method, including the Kodaly and Eurythmics principles which underpin the DaCapo approach. You will leave with a good understanding of these principles and how to apply them to your teaching. You will also gain a repertoire of songs, resources and activities, enabling you to plan and teach excellent music lessons right away. 

The DaCapo repertoire that you will gain access to has been tried and tested over many years. The tools and resources we will give you have been shown to be effective for learning as well as popular.

On this course you will learn: 

  • An introduction to Kodaly principles and techniques
  • An introduction to Eurythmics principles and techniques
  • Several practical listening activities and ideas 
  • How to apply the DaCapo approach to instrumental teaching. 

This course is designed for musicians of degree standard who are interested in musicianship-based classroom teaching.
