We run Early Years Music classes for ages three to seven years every Tuesday in St Albans, Hertfordshire.
At this age your child can absorb musical concepts unconsciously, laying excellent foundations for intuitive understanding and the ability to articulate complex musical ideas later on.
During the 45-minute sessions your child will be expertly introduced to all of the elements that make up music. They will also explore the expressive qualities of music and build vital skills in cooperation, participation, contribution, leading, following and taking turns.
Research shows that musical activities contribute to emotional, cognitive and social development in children. The activities we use allow children to develop their musical understanding and skills before adding-in the difficult technical demands of the instrument.
Early years music classes happen on Tuesdays at the Marshalswick Baptist Church Hall, Marshalswick, St Albans, Hertfordshire.
- Children aged three to four years - 2-2.45pm
- Children aged five to seven years - 3.45-4.30pm
Numbers are small, to create a more intimate learning opportunity. The hall is spacious and light with no restrictions and so the children take part in the movement part of the class with huge freedom.
We also host Early Years Music lessons on Saturday mornings at our Saturday Music Centre, North Finchley, London.
