Classroom/Curriculum Music (Foundation Stage/ KS1)

A one-day training for classroom teachers who do not have a high level of music training but are confident with singing and are currently teaching Foundation Stage / Key Stage 1 music in schools. 

This course covers:

  • Methods to enhance classroom teaching (Kodaly and Eurythmics)
  • Exploring use of percussion (tuned and untuned)
  • Notation
  • Lively and practical listening
  • Composition
  • Incorporating movement into classroom teaching

You will leave with a good understanding of these principles and techniques, understanding how to apply them to improve your teaching. You will also gain a repertoire of songs, resources and activities, enabling you to plan and teach excellent music lessons right away. 

The DaCapo repertoire that you will gain access to has been tried and tested over many years. The tools and resources we will give you have been shown to be effective for learning as well as popular.
