Bringing out the musician in everyone
DaCapo’s music education programme is unique because it is tailored to the needs of every participant. As a result, it ignites a love of music and builds joy that lasts a lifetime.
What we offer
For Music Learners of all ages,
Our Saturday Centre
The Saturday Centre is the heart of the DaCapo programme, offering music lessons for everyone — from toddlers to adults.
It provides an inclusive and welcoming environment where every learner can explore the joy of music.
We run sessions every Saturday during term time, covering a wide range of activities for babies, children, young people, and adults. As a result, families can grow together through music while enjoying a supportive community.
For Primary Schools,
Classroom Music
DaCapo’s classroom music programme is fun, interactive, and carefully tailored to the needs of young children.
With over 30 years of experience, we deliver a curriculum that blends engaging lessons, creative exercises, and enjoyable group activities.
In addition, our approach encourages steady progress and builds confidence while linking directly to the national curriculum. This way, children not only learn key music skills but also develop a lifelong love of music.
For Music Teachers,
Train With Us
This is a unique opportunity for musicians who are passionate about becoming excellent music teachers.
Our training combines Kodály and Eurhythmics principles with a proven teaching method based on play and creativity.
Through this programme, you will gain the skills and confidence to lead inspiring lessons. Most importantly, you will graduate as a well-prepared teacher who puts enjoyment and musical growth at the heart of every class.
At Dacapo, we do things differently, because
We Believe…
…success looks different for every child.
For some of our students, success means performing on a West End stage or studying music at a top tier university.
For others, it means finally enjoying an educational setting that’s inclusive and truly designed for them, to gain the confidence of performing music in front of an audience.
…effective music education is about enjoyment.
Our unique methodology that’s based on Kodály principles is a truly inclusive, tailored and student-centred way of teaching.
You won’t find rote learning, pressurised environments and judgement in our classrooms – and students don’t have to take any exams, unless they want to. As a result, our families tell us their children pick up their instruments at home just for fun.
…a focus on ongoing teacher training matters.
Not every trained musician makes for a great music teacher, which is why we established our own, rigorous and comprehensive teacher training programme. And just as learning never stops, neither does teacher training. The needs of our students evolve and so does our teaching.
…parents deserve to enjoy the experience too.
While the students enjoy their lessons, parents enjoy the time they spend at DaCapo too, whether they are sharing coffee and a home-made cake in our café with other parents, making use of free wifi, or joining our free adult choir to experience some joyful music-making first-hand.

Our Stories

Ria Subramani
Ash [Ria’s father} was sceptical that DaCapo’s methods of pressure-free learning, going step by step and layering musical concepts carefully and methodically for the students, were ever going to work.

Ella Gwynne-Evans
“I remember my very first cafe concert,” violinist and singer Ella says. “I performed Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, and it was very scratchy and very squeaky.” At the time, Ella was only six years old, but already she was giving a performance in front of her peers and their parents
