Marie Cayeux

Marie was a member of the Alexander Gibson Opera School at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland during the seasons 2021-2023 where she gained considerable opera experience following the obtention of her Masters with Distinction at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 2021. She studied singing with Rudolf Piernay, Scott Johnson and Elizabeth McCormack.
Marie is also an alumna of Oxenfoord Summer School, Leeds Lieder Festival Young Artist Programme and Lyrique-en-Mer Festival YAP. Although at the beginning of her singing career, Marie has already won multiple awards: 3rd and Audience Prizes at the 2022 Hurn Court Opera Competition, 2nd Prize at the 2022 Arles Opera Competition, the Tracey Chadwell Memorial Prize during the 2021 Voiceworks at Wigmore.
Equally at ease on the concert stage as on opera stages, Marie is passionate about Art songs and has learnt from renowned collaborative pianists such as: Iain Burnside, Eugene Asti, Dalton Baldwin, Helmut Deutsch, Malcolm Martineau or Graham Johnson. Most recently, she was the soprano solo in Mahler's 4th Symphony and Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate with Glasgow International Symphony Orchestra, and she performed Ravel’s Trois poèmes by Stephane Mallarmé under the baton of Cameron Burns for RCS 175th anniversary. She was a member of the prestigious Bayreuth Festival Chorus during the summer of 2023.
At the DaCapo Saturday Centre, Marie teaches one-to-one lessons and piano.
