I have been an enthusiastic supporter of the DaCapo teaching method for many years having seen the abiding intellectual satisfaction, interest and sheer enjoyment in music both my children, now in their thirties, gained from attending the Saturday School from early years through to late teens.
I have a strong commitment to the DaCapo ethos that learning music is essential for children’s development, that it should be accessible for all children, and that it should be fun.
I still attend as an adult learner playing the oboe, singing and developing musicianship...….this in not just for the youngsters!
In my professional life I am a solicitor running a private practise in East London, and during my career have worked with a number of voluntary organisations and youth groups. Accordingly I bring some legal knowledge and organisational skills to the Board. I am interested in ensuring that the DaCapo Music Foundation continues to develop and expand, promoting excellence in teaching skills, sharing its passion in bringing musicianship to the widest possible audience and extending its influence in music education.
