Sally Russell
Senior Teacher. Cello
Sally studied at Chetham’s School of Music under cellist David Smith. He read Applied Music at the University of Strathclyde, studying with Mark Bailey, Betsey Taylor and Rachel Lee, and graduating with a first class BMus. He went on to do an MMus in Ethnomusicology from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London University, where he specialized in Klezmer, taking lessons with Merlin Sheperd and Ilana Cravitz. He also took the Community Music Workshop Leader Programme with PTLLS. For DaCapo, Sally teaches one-to-one lessons and ensembles at the Saturday Centre, and cello and classroom music at a number of primary schools.
